Innovating business ideas for more than 235 years

1790

In 1790, Ernst Christoph Daniel Pigge took over a bookbinder’s workshop in the small town of Bodenwerder an der Weser in what is now North-West Germany, thus founding the company that would become Borek Media.

1810

Ernst Christian Daniel Pigge followed in his father’s footsteps, thus beginning the tradition that still exists today of our company being passed from father to son or mother to daughter.

1893

Wilhelms Ernst Heinrich Pigge, one of five children, took on the management of the company. The publication of the local newspaper “Generalanzeiger für Bodenwerder” in 1893, represented an important milestone in the company’s history.

1920

With the construction of the train line from Hameln to Bodenwerder, bids were made for the rail waybill stamp, and in 1920 the printing of waybills began, marking the birth of the printed form.

1965

Following its 175th anniversary in 1965, the company began to expand rapidly, becoming the leading form printing company in northern Germany.

1974

For the remainder of the 20th century, the company continued to build on its reputation as a printing & publishing company.

2014

The focus on IT services began with the founding of Borek IT Sourcing in India.

2016

The future is secure: On 1 April 2016, Konstantin Borek, the youngest son of seven children, joined the company.

2016

Borek IT Solutions is certified by TÜV Nord ISO 27001 which provides objective and credible evidence of the effectiveness of our information security management system (ISMS) and ensures that we meet globally recognized standards.

2021

As part of its ongoing global expansion, Borek IT Solutions is merging into the Borek Solutions Group.

2022

The Borek Solutions Group announces the opening of a new operations center in Pristina, Kosovo. As we expand our global reach, we are thrilled to tap into the potential of the talented and innovative youth in Kosovo and to provide opportunities for growth and development within our organization.

2023

Due to further strategic focus on IT services and the continued expansion of the Borek Solutions Group, Borek Media GmbH in Osterwieck is being sold to the Sattler Media Group.
